King Saud University has received a US patent for a tri-leaflet mechanical heart valve. The valve was created by Dr. Rakan bin Ibrahim Nazer.
The design features three movable leaflets that work in coordination. It is aimed at improving blood flow and reducing regurgitation.
The patent is described as marking a significant advancement in mechanical heart valve technology.
