AI-generated photos that falsely claim to show an elderly couple being “stripped and robbed” during unrest in France have racked up millions of views, according to FRANCE 24 Observers. The images were amplified by far-right accounts and fuelled inflammatory claims about Muslims, Jews and the riots.
The FRANCE 24 Observers team traced one of the images to an AI photo montage published by a pro-Israel account. The images were created using OpenAI tools, the report said.
The alleged assault remains unverified. No official reports confirm that the attack took place.
