Israel’s opposition leader Yair Lapid on Wednesday accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of dangerously politicizing the country’s security ahead of elections, after Netanyahu made a series of threats against Iran.

Lapid, a former prime minister who leads the centrist parliamentary opposition and is a contender in next Tuesday’s election, said he was “just stunned at hearing Netanyahu recklessly hurling around security threats.”

He accused Netanyahu of turning Israel’s security into an electoral matter.
