The Council on American-Islamic Relations has suspended its operations in Florida following the enforcement of a law granting state officials the power to designate groups as “terrorist organizations,” according to state officials and CAIR.
Earlier this year, Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed the measure into law. It gives him and other state officials the authority to designate groups as “terrorist organizations” and to expel students who support them.
