Malaysia has closed schools in Kuala Lumpur and other parts of the country because of worsening haze caused by fires in Indonesia, according to the education ministry. The closures respond to air quality that has reached unhealthy levels.
The education ministry took the action as air quality deteriorated, affecting the capital and other regions.
