The French interior ministry said 24 investigations have been opened by the IGPN, the national police watchdog, into incidents linked to the ongoing high school protest movement, following severe injuries.

The police response has reignited calls to scrap rubber bullets and launcher-fired riot-control weapons. Rights groups and UN experts have long denounced these weapons as dangerous and excessive.
