US President Donald Trump said on Saturday that Ukraine should replace Volodymyr Zelensky with a new leader who would agree to end the war. Speaking at the White House, Trump criticised Zelensky over strikes on Russian oil refineries, which he said have contributed to high diesel prices ahead of the US midterm elections.
Trump told reporters that he had told Zelensky to "do what you want" against Russia, but "don't hit refineries". He added: "He better damn well stop."
Trump also said he believes "it's time for Ukraine to get a new president" who would agree to end the war.
