Christa Pike, 50, survived a failed execution in a Tennessee prison last week and is now conscious and speaking, her lawyers said on Tuesday. Her prognosis remains unclear.

Pike was sentenced to death for a murder she committed when she was a teenager. She received two supposedly lethal doses of the drug pentobarbital at the Tennessee prison a week ago.
