Youth-driven protests have been appearing across Europe, including in Belgium, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Albania, Serbia and Greece.
In France, the protests were sparked by deteriorating conditions in high schools and universities, particularly for students from underprivileged backgrounds. Wages are not keeping up with inflation.
The housing crisis is front and centre in places such as Spain and Portugal. In Albania and Serbia, corruption and democratic backsliding have sparked uproar.
