Lebanon’s Justice Minister Adel Nassar said a shipment of Hezbollah explosives amounted to a violation of national security and vowed to pursue the investigation into it to the end, saying the probe was expanding.

Nassar pressed for the case to be referred to the Judicial Council on national security grounds. He said the scale of the case and the dangers posed by the explosives justified the referral.

In remarks to Asharq Al-Awsat, Nassar said there were “no limits to the investigation,” insisting that political pressure would not interfere with the judiciary’s work.
